The Law of Attraction – Does it Really Work?

By Marlie Parsons

The average individual is not aware of how powerful thoughts can be, but, as Napoleon Hill wrote in his life-changing book “Think and Grow Rich,” thoughts are things, and we become what we think about. Although he wrote that famous best-seller nearly 80 years ago, even today many people believe the concept of manifestation is not profound but nonsense. Truth be told, for anyone who is conscious of success, this statement is not only powerful, but — many believe — it is the most precious secret of life itself.

Everything begins with an idea. The Book of Genesis in the Holy Bible states that in the beginning was the word. Thoughts can become reality. An excellent example is the Wright brothers who thought man could actually fly, and so they made it happen. Bill Gates thought that a computer could be make simple enough for anyone to operate. He manifested that idea into the incredibly lucrative Microsoft Corporation because he was one of many successful men and women who understand the workings of that most fundamental law, the Law of Attraction.

Basically stated, the law says that like attracts like. Similar things attract each other. Birds of a feather flock together. Given, then, that everything starts with thoughts, and that the Law of Attraction is important for the manifestation of those thoughts, than the principle can be summarized as follows:

A thought attracts other similar thoughts, which attract people with similar thoughts, which attract circumstances in harmony with those thoughts, which leads to the thing that had been desired in those thoughts being expressed in physical form.

Just as electricity is real even though we cannot see it, so thoughts are real in the form of random energy waiting to be formed into tangible things. Of course thoughts can become real, because all of the myriad creations and inventions that now surround us were once only ideas in someone’s mind. And what enables a thing to be manifested into the physical world from the invisible plane? The persistence of thoughts.

Science teaches that the entire universe is comprised of energy of various frequencies. Thoughts are a primitive state of energy, and thought energy radiates in frequencies just as do different radio stations. It is the frequency level of those thoughts that determines how or even if they will be manifested into physical circumstances. Low frequencies of thought yield low physical expressions, and high frequencies of thought yield high level circumstances, people or objects.

It is important to remember that thoughts are just as real as any tangible objects. In order for the Law of Attraction to perform as you desire, you need to be as certain that thoughts are real as you are certain the earth is round. If you maintain your thoughts sufficiently long, you will, in time, see them manifested into reality.

Do you want to manifest a higher income, a fancy automobile, a waterfront house, a loving relationship or freedom from worries? Then start by creating them with your thoughts. You are only limited by what you can hold in your mind. Think and grow rich.

Law of Attraction Money

Would you like to manifest money quickly and easily? There are three steps that have been found to assist in manifesting money, as difficult as that may be to believe. Indeed it is that scepticism that may interfere with the process. But to most of us, who were taught from an early age that hard work was a requirement for the acquisition of money, a change of mindset may be required. For in truth, the hard work that is necessary is not the sort of pick and shovel activity most folks imagine.

Whatever it may be that you desire to manifest, the primary requirement is a deep understanding of both how you relate to your physical reality and the way you relate to yourself and your alignment with that which you desire. How do you know when you are in such an alignment? There will be a feeling of joy when you focus on it and are open to the flow of the creative force pouring its dynamic magnetism into you.

This is how it is when you want to apply the law of attraction to money. I am sure you have heard it many times, for it is almost like a mantra chanted by those successful individuals who have been able to manifest great wealth. “Money will come when you are doing what you love.” When you are loving what you do, you are moving into the flow of the divine will that gives power to your intention. Although this is the first method, it is not the only one.

The second technique for quickly manifesting money is take fear out of the process of attracting your desire and moving boldly forward. Not being sure of what you want will spoil the formula. Having a crystal clear mental image of your goal makes the manifestation process easier.

Method number three is being able to raise the power of your desire to the degree that it will come to you. That is the genuine essence of the manifestation process. The more you can increase your magnetism, the greater will be the charge that moves the object of your desire towards your grasp.

Integrity Encourages Abundance

The Law of Attraction responds to pure, positive vibrations. If you are focused on negativity, or even if your vibrations are mixed, you are out of the integrity required to enable the manifestation process. The negative emotions that prevent us from obtaining what we desire happen whenever our actions are not aligned with our core values. The solution, obviously, is to be true to yourself. Be honest and compassionate. Steer clear of the selfish path. Avoid all actions and thoughts that constrict the flow of positive energy towards you. Doing so will open up the funnel that will direct the bounty of the universe towards you.

Gratitude Drives the Law of Attraction

You will not be able to manifest what you desire if you do not appreciate what you already have, so be thankful for all the blessings you have received. Even though you may wish you had a better job, be grateful that you have one at all. There are literally millions of people across the planet who have no access to clean water, enough food to sustain themselves and their family, nor a roof over their head. If you wake up every morning feeling thankful, you will be on your way to feeling good. Make that positive energy last throughout the day.

Magnify the power of your gratitude by using pen and paper for greater focus. Write down sentences that literally spell out that you are grateful and happy, and what it is that is the object of your desire to be manifested. For example, if you are working in the produce department of a supermarket, you could write: “I am grateful and proud that I was promoted to assistant produce manager.” If you are seeking a romantic relationship, write: “I am happy and appreciative to have a wife who loves me deeply.”

Visualize your desires and express your gratitude in the present tense as if they were already yours and your belief that these manifestations are happening will be strengthened. The more specific you can be, the stronger will be the attraction.

When I was trying to quit smoking, I chanted the mantra: “I don’t smoke. I am a non-smoker.” Visualizing the positive is the key. Never say I wish I was not so poor, or I resent having such a bad old car. Instead, say that you are grateful to have a million dollars in the bank and to be the proud owner of a finely-crafted automobile. This will train your mind to obey the Law of Attraction and bring you that which you would manifest.

Fear Repels Success

Darkness is not a substance that can be swept away like dust on a dirty floor. Rather, darkness is the absence of light. Therefore, the way to eliminate the dark is to pull away the curtains, raise up the blinds and allow the golden light to shine inside.

Fear is like a darkness of the mind. It hinders success when you feel that everything you do is futile. When your mind says you can’t do something, you are setting yourself up for failure. On the other hand, when your mind says that you can and you will do something, you are paving the road to success. Fear is the weed that kills the fruits in your garden. It is the fly in your soup of dreams.

The best way to drive fear out of your thoughts is by visualizing the opposite, and by forcing your thoughts to focus on what it is that you desire to manifest.

Fear is the opposite of desire. Just as a strong desire will attract what it is you want to manifest, fear will also attract what you do not want. There are subtle variations of this principle. Do you stumble and call yourself clumsy? Do you make a mistake and call yourself stupid? Do forget something and call yourself senile? All of these negative vibrations are working against yourself. Instead, focus on positive reinforcements. Make a habit of reminding yourself (and thus reminding the universe) that you are strong, you are wise, you are capable, you are wealthy, you are desirable, and the Law of Attraction will deliver those creative visualizations into fruition.

Making Full Use of The Secret

Did you watch the movie “The Secret?” Many people who did came out of the theatre wanting to know more about how to use it and apply it to their lives with success.

The first step to doing so is through education. The more you learn about The Law of Attraction and how it can be applied to your life, the better equipped you will be to utilize it to your benefit. Your very thoughts are the core of The Secret, and by that we mean something even deeper than the benefits of positive thoughts versus negative ones. The difference between those who think they understand The Law of Attraction and those who actually posses a powerful and deep understanding of The Law is the depth of the understanding of their own thoughts.

An excellent way to gain that deeper understanding is by keeping a journal. Writing down your thoughts is a brilliant way to show yourself what you are feeling in the depth of your being. Get a journal and develop the habit of writing in it daily. When you crystallize and clarify your feelings on paper, you can then see them away from the mental clutter.

Empowered by your new journal, you can start taking true, inspired steps towards manifesting your goals with the Law of Attraction. You have probably heard the saying “If you do what you have always done, you will get what you have always got.” Recording your movements in a journal will show you what you have done on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. You can see whether you have been following a plan towards success. Only when you begin setting up more positive conditions for your life will the Law of Attraction and its natural forces unfold to bring those conditions to you.

You will not be able to achieve worthy accomplishments if you do not hold a strong and powerful desire to do so. But, according to natural law, the greater your desire, the greater will be the energy created and manifested. The Secret of Success, then, is the formation, cultivation and manifestation of firmly, constantly and strongly held positive desires.

Your good fortune is out there, ready for you to create. I wish you great success in achieving it.

Earth’s Three Most Powerful Places

When people find out I’m a travel writer who focuses on pilgrimages to places of power, they often ask me, “What’s the most powerful place on Earth?”

by Robert Scheer

When people find out I’m a travel writer who focuses on pilgrimages to places of power, they often ask me, “What’s the most powerful place on Earth?” Because there are more than 1,000 major power centers around the planet, it’s hard to find anyone truly qualified to answer that question, but I have talked with someone who I believe has inside information. Antón Ponce de León Paiva is a fascinating man whose encounters with ETs and UFOs have been publicized by Shirley MacLaine. About 35 years ago, Antón was taken blindfolded to a hidden village in the Andes, where elders taught him ancient secrets of the Incas about life on Earth and elsewhere. I met Antón in Cusco, Peru, where he was speaking to a small group of people. He told us that great changes were going to be happening around the world, when the energy vortexes at Lake Titicaca, Mount Kailas and Glastonbury would become even more powerful.

Mysterious Lake Titicaca

Lake Titicaca, on the borders of Peru and Bolivia, is where Inca legends say life on Earth was first created by Viracocha. In the center of the lake is the Island of the Sun, with an ancient, sacred temple. Nearby is Sillustani, where mysterious burial towers called chulpas were once plated with gold and held the remains of Inca royalty.

Aramu Muru's Portal
Click below to see a short video of the Aramu Muru doorway

A few miles away is Aramu Muru’s Portal, a doorway-shaped niche in a stone outcropping, located in a region known as the Valley of the Spirits. The local villagers who walked with us refused to come close to the portal. They tell stories about people disappearing through the solid rock. Although I didn’t have an other-worldly experience there, one of the women in my group experienced a shift in consciousness as she was kneeling in the portal. She says she saw a light filling her inner vision and then felt herself “entering and experiencing the realms of total Unconditional Love.” She heard a voice telling her about a past life experience, and that her life’s work was to help others open the doorway of their hearts, which is the pathway to God. She was utterly overwhelmed by her vision.

Ancient Mount Kailas

Mount Kailas is the oldest pilgrimage site on Earth. In the Himalayas of Tibet, it is near the source of the sacred Ganges river, and it has been a holy travel destination for a mind-boggling 15,000 years. The peak is pyramid shaped, with four sides facing north, south, east and west, so some people believe the pyramids of Egypt were designed to emulate Mount Kailas. In the Hindu religion this is where the god Shiva sits and meditates. Buddhists say walking the 32-mile circuit around the mountain, a three-day trek called a kora, washes away the sins of one lifetime. Make the arduous trek 108 times and you’ll reach Nirvana!

Sacred Glastonbury

Glastonbury, in Southwest England’s county of Somerset, was once known as the Isle of Avalon. The place has been sacred long before the dawn of recorded history. Ancient Celtic religious leaders performed rituals here, and legends tell of tunnels leading into the realm of the elves and fairies. Glastonbury is associated with Jesus, King Arthur and UFOs.

Dominating the skyline is St. Michael’s Tower on Glastonbury Hill, where there have been several reports of mysterious lights. A local policeman saw “eight egg-shaped objects … hovering in formation over the hill,” and another observer reported “several green and mauve lights hovering around the tower.” Martin Gray, a renowned expert on sacred places, says he slept in the tower one night, during which he saw “the interior of the tower radiantly aglow with a luminous white light.”

A Christian legend says that, as a child, Jesus visited Glastonbury with his uncle, Joseph of Arimathea. It is also said that Joseph returned with the Apostle Philip in 37 c.e. Joseph supposedly leaned on his walking stick, which took root and grew into a thorn tree that bloomed every Christmas until Puritans chopped it down in the17th century. Joseph and Philip are credited with building the first Christian church in England, on the site where Glastonbury abbey was later constructed.

In Chalice Well, Joseph is said to have hidden the chalice of the Last Supper, the Holy Grail. Miraculous cures have been credited to the well’s healing waters. The design motif on the well cover is the vesica piscis, an ancient pre-Christian symbol which evolved into the Christian fish. It represents the blending of masculine and feminine, the yin and yang, and the meeting-place of the conscious and unconscious.

Whether or not Glastonbury, Mount Kailas and Lake Titicaca do indeed grow more powerful over the coming years, these sacred places are at the top of my “most recommended” list for anyone interested in spiritual travel.

Watershed

Gaining Insight From the Asian Earthquake & Tsunami

by Amara Rose

amara roseWhen the magnitude 9.0 earthquake rocked Indonesia on December 26th, the full moon was in Cancer, an intensely emotional water sign. The quake struck deep beneath the Indian Ocean, unleashing a tsunami that obliterated more than 150,000 lives and left many millions homeless. It also permanently reconfigured southern Asia’s geography. The Shift of the Ages is, literally, upon us.

The cataclysm is another fierce message from the Mother that we humans are merely playing at being powerful when we play with firepower–and it’s time to reimagine our rage, at the elemental level. As with 9-1-1 in the U.S.A., what is happening affects everyone. Enzo Boschi, head of Italy’s National Geophysics Institute, said, “All the planet is vibrating.” This soulquake is the latest call to open ourselves to love, compassion, harmony and healing, as never before–and to detach from our drama/trauma.

We’ve been globally gestating for quite a while. Now, Gaia’s water has broken. Emotions are running high. How can we bring ourselves back into balance as we enter the New Year, so that we effervesce rather than erupt?

Remember that water (emotions, the Moon, and the feminine principle) complements fire (spirit, the Sun, and the masculine principle). The Chinese New Year, which begins on February 9th, rings in the Year of the Rooster. My astrological day planner, however, recasts it as the Year of the Phoenix, a spiritual translation that expands the concept exponentially.

In China, the phoenix is honored as symbolic of Earth herself, and of the yin energy. Known as the legendary bird that rises anew from the ashes, the phoenix is a universal symbol of transformation and rebirth, because she ascends from the alchemical fires of purification. Fans of the Harry Potter books will recall how the phoenix Fawkes burst into flame when it was time to begin a new cycle.

This seismic event exhorts us to raise our collective kundalini. We all possess the true fire within, the creative energy to awaken from our soul sleep and burst into flame, metaphorically speaking, as we rise into our truth, beauty, love and service. We can burn through our illusions rather than burn up in them. It will require copious amounts of water–our shed and unshed tears, which can cleanse and heal us–to keep the fire focused on purpose, rather than expressed as random blazes.

We also need a strong container for this power: a crucible in which alchemy can take place safely. For many people, the crucible is their faith, whether religious or secular. Prayer and peace create a formidable vessel. The Jewish Torah describes peace as, “the vessel which can contain all blessing.”

Over a decade ago, as I embarked on my own dark night of the soul journey, born in fire and water, a friend wrote, “I sense this will be a watershed experience for you, and you won’t ever be the same.” He was absolutely correct.

This is our planetary watershed adventure. As we embrace the wildness within, love our primal essence in the same way we thrill to the power of nature to transform and renew, we become spiritual warriors, transmuting the wound within us into wonder. With a subtle shift in perception, we move from scarred and scared to sacred, from density to destiny, from being exclusive to becoming inclusive.

A letter sent to the Planetary Awakening Network (http://www.planetawake.org) from someone at Ground Zero expresses the feeling best. Niranjan writes, in part, “I live right here in the heart of Chennai–less than ten miles away from the coast that was hit by the tsunami. Chennai is considered the spiritual and intellectual capital of India. Every moment of the day there are prayers going on in some place or other. Yet all the prayers failed to appease the fury of nature. By striking at the very citadel of spirituality, the foundations of faith itself have been shaken. And it has to be a global effort to rebuild this faith–piece by piece. It is going to be an arduous task…but when we are through, the Spirit of the entire human race will have become INVINCIBLE. Not wet by water, nor burnt by fire; not pierced by sword, nor cast away by wind–as described in the Bhagavad Gita.

“Maybe we will never really understand the reason behind all this. But we need to pick up our pieces and rebuild our lives. And while rebuilding, we should make peace our foundation, strength our pillars, virtue our brick and mortar and love our doors to invite our fellow beings into our heart. The more peace and harmony we invite into our lives, the more joy and happiness we will see in our world.”

What You Can Do

Dr. Masaru Emoto, whose book, “The Hidden Messages in Water,” is portrayed in the breakthrough film, “What the Bleep Do We Know!?” is calling on people all over the world to offer prayers of love to the Indian Ocean Rim Countries, as a way of preventing pollution of the water and possible epidemics in areas affected by the tsunami. Read his message: http://www.whatthebleep.com/releases/?item=tsunami1. As the book and film demonstrate, what we think and feel qualitatively affects the world around us.

Evidence of Divine Assistance

The vast majority of people believe in angels or a divine source of assistance

by Jean Slatter

jean slatterThe vast majority of people believe in angels or a divine source of assistance. Enthusiasts often reveal dramatic stories of divine intervention that have clearly affected them at a deep level. One such story I heard recently brings tears to my eyes every time I think of it.

A mother recounted how she and her two-year-old son were admiring a parked fire truck. They crossed the street to go about their business, and then the unthinkable happened. The mother turned and saw her son running back across the street toward the fire truck and a car barreling down upon him. The impending accident was certain. It was an endless moment of anguish, panic, and pain that no mother ever wants to experience.

“Please God, NO!” was her only thought. Simultaneously with that thought, she saw an angel swoop down and catapult her son back into her arms with such force that they both fell backward. They held onto each other, crying with utter emotional relief as the full impact of what had happened came to their awareness.

Later that night when she was tucking her son in bed, her son said, “Mommy, did you see me fly!”

Spectacular stories such as this one warm our hearts and inspire our faith in miracles. However we have come to believe that the powers of the Universe are reserved for breathtaking rescues and other deeds of heroic proportion. What about smaller, less dramatic needs? Can the powers of the heavens be called upon to support us in mundane matters of ordinary life?

Open your eyes and you will see evidence on a less-sensational scale of daily occurrences that are every bit as miraculous. You do have access to the creative power of the celestial realms—a gift given to you by the heavens, and one you are expected to use with great joy for the highest good of all. You must first realize that you are an integral part of the divine plan of creation, not a bystander but in fact director of the grand drama of life on this Earthly plain. You can quite literally “employ” divine assistance to make your every wish a reality and invite miracles in even the small endeavors of your life.

How to See Angels

A simple way to shift your perception of the spiritual world is to imagine a vast resource pool of eager specialists with every skill and talent needed to aid us in all aspects of our lives. Imagine an angel adept at accounting, or proficient at sales, or gifted in diplomacy. Imagine that an entire staff stands ready to support you in small issues such as arranging chance meetings, finding lost items, and bringing new insights. Whether you believe it is help from the angels, from your higher-self, or simply the power of thought, you can ease the struggle in your everyday life by tapping into this incredible Universal power.

Last month, my friend Rachel called me, overflowing with excitement about her most recent experience with enlisting celestial assistance. Her twelve-year-old son, Logan, had to do a school report on football star Joe Montana. He had been frustrated finding resource books at the school library, so Rachel drove him to their local branch library. Rachel sat in the car with her younger daughter while Logan spent about an hour in the library. He returned to the car empty-handed and discouraged, having discovered that all of the Joe Montana books had already been checked out.

Rachel told him not to worry and suggested that he go back into the library and look around one more time. As he walked away, she closed her eyes and asked for an angelic homework assistant to help him find exactly what he was looking for. Just a couple of minutes later, she and her daughter walked into the library to see how he was doing. She saw her son standing in the check-out line, holding a wonderful oversized picture book with the title Montana across the top.

“That’s perfect!” she beamed. “How did you find it so quickly?”

He whispered, “You won’t believe this, Mom,” and then took her over to the side. He spoke as if he was a little spooked, recounting how he had returned to the sports section of the library when suddenly a thought appeared in his mind: “Maybe a book fell behind the shelves.” Something then compelled him to stick his head right into a space in the racks and look down.

He continued, “I saw the edge of a book, so I reached down and pulled this up!”

Logan was completely incredulous, but Rachel was certain it was due to divine intervention.

What she told me next was so outrageous that I could hardly believe it myself: When Logan went to check out the book, the librarian at the counter told him that this book wasn’t even in the library’s computer system! It appears the spiritual homework assistant had placed the perfect book there for him, simply for the taking. Now that’s magic!

The Universe does indeed work in mysterious ways.
